Description : This package tells the story of an “MGR” coal train which loads at the Bates colliery north of Newcastle and delivers to the Didcot power plant on the GWR mainline, sometime in the BR “Blue era” of the 1970s. Chapter 1 opens at dawn on the Blyth and Tyne Freeware Challenge route. Chapter 2 takes place later that same morning on the Newcastle-York route. In Chapter 3, you’re in Oxford on the evening of the same day, delivering the loads to the power plant and picking up a rake of empties to take back. Finally, in Chapter 4, you’re back in York at 03:30 the following morning taking your empties north to Newcastle, where the whole cycle starts over again. Your engine in all four scenarios is diesel number 37071. In order to play these scenarios, you will need the following add-ons to Railworks 3/TS2012: -- The Blyth & Tyne route by Joseph Whittaker (UKTS 26101) -- Four of the UKTS Freeware Packs: Classic Diesels, DMUs & EMUs, UK Wagons #1, and UK Carriages (Note: I forgot to mention the DMU set in the readme file.) -- Malcolm Mackay’s excellent freight cars: PAV Grain Hopper (UKTS 29009), HJV Dia. 1/166 25½t Hoppers (UKTS 28705), BDV Bolster D Pack (UKTS 29221), BPV Boplate E (UKTS 29222), and FEV Conflat E Coke (UKTS 29223) -- The National Coal Board Hunslet diesel shunters by “Valdecunastr” (available at http://www.trensim.com/lib/rs/index.php?act=view&id=315.) UPDATE: There was *supposed* to be no payware required, but apparently one payware locomotive sneaked in to Chapters 2 and 4 on me: one of Marleyman's Class 47 reskins. These are available for only £0.50 at http://www.railworks.marleyman.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=8. So much for "zero payware!" I will upload a revised version in the near future eliminating the payware engine--but Marleyman's diesel is such a great value for the money that you may just want to go get it anyway.
