|Description||:||Barry Summer Extra Part Two
The second section of a multi-part scenario for the JT Western Mainlines.
Two versions again, one using the RSC Class 37Pack01, the other with the default Class 37.
There are a few little differences between the two versions.
Following a long tradition on the old ex-GWR lines, Summer Saturdays have several time dated extra services using locos normally associated with weekday freight heading towards the more popular South West destinations. The eventual destination of this train will depend on the expected extension to the Western Mainlines route, but as this continuing part two now goes from Weston Super Mare as far as Exeter, then this second part is again another perfectly valid standalone scenario.
A part three is now confirmed, and is under production.
Set in 1975, TOPS had been introduced, the Class 50s had started to arrive from the North for the faster expresses. However there's still quite a few Westerns around as well...
Having brought your train in to WSM from Barry Town and South Wales, then get ready for the next departure South Westward in a few minutes. Permission to proceed via a TAB may be required here.
The pattern of traffic has now changed somewhat from the Welsh origions, as the focus is now keeping the heavy weekend flow of holiday trains on the move.
As a result the timings are just a little bit tighter on this section, no hanging around.....
Allow around 70 minutes for this.
Due to a general lack of suitable BR Blue locomotives with the strictly correct details for the 1970s(Marker lights but no headcodes?) a few liberties have been taken, but we think the result should still be enjoyable. A large number of IHH engines are also present, although most could be swapped out if needed with RW_Tools. It still uses the excellent but unfortunately withdrawn Class 37 Pack01 from RSC, although the alternative "stock" split headcode ones are used for the second version included.
Please note that there appears to be an over-sensitive ATP grid approaching Taunton platform 2 during the default Class 37 version, which may mean an unexpected emergency brake application. It has been avoided in the other version by a different use of platforms. Must report that one to JT.....
