Mini Route Mini Loader First Steps
Written By Peter Peddlesden Date: 11 June 2011
This guide is a simple step by step to getting your UKTrainSim mini-routes running correctly.
When you install a UKTrainSim Mini-Route a new icon will have been created on your desktop, this icon is the launch button
for the mini route mini-loader. This applies to ALL UKTrainSim Community CD mini-routes, ie. Black Country, Somerset & Dorset.
NOTE: You only need to go through these steps ONCE when you install a mini-route. Subsequent launchings of the mini-loader
will know the selected route.
STEP 1:
Double Click on the mini route icon that has been created on your desktop. This is the screen you will see:
STEP 2:
Click on the OK button in the launch screen. This is the screen you will see overlaid on the launch screen:
This is the correct response as you haven't yet selected a route for the mini-loader to work with.
STEP 3:
Click on the OK button in the window and you will be presented with an Explorer type window thus:
The upper left single line box is the "Drive Selection Box". If you have installed the mini route
to any drive but the default, use the drop arrow to list your drives and then click on drive that
you installed to. If you have installed the mini route to the default on C:\ then no action required.
Underneath this single line box is a PANE, this is where we will select the route shortly.
STEP 4:
In the left hand pane mentioned above, double click on the drive letter at the top of the pane.
This pane will then display the contents at the root of the selected drive like this:
If you use the scrollbar to the right of the pane you should see all the folders on the selected drive.
One of which will be the folder that the mini route was installed in to.
In this instance "sdjr_MiniRoute".
STEP 5:
Double Click on the folder name of your mini route (sdjr_MiniRoute) in this case, you will now see that
the left hand pane contains the "Train Simulator" folder.
STEP 6:
Double Click on the Train Simulator folder and this will open up to show the folders within:
STEP 7:
Look down the list of folders and you will see the "ROUTES" folder:
Double click on the Routes folder and you will see the SDJR route folder within:
STEP 8:
Double click on the SDJR folder and you will see all the normal route folders within:
Note also that the RIGHT HAND PANE shows the files within the SDJR folder itself.
STEP 9:
OK so we have reached the route folder, we just need to tell mini-loader that this is the route
we want it to use. See that BIG PINK button at bottom left "Confirm Route".
Click on that BIG PINK button and you will notice that the RIGHT HAND PANE now displays a list of all
the available activities for the selected and confirmed route.
Note that when you launch mini-loader in future, it will bring you straight to this screen.
STEP 10:
Notice all the activities are OFF at this time. Click to select the activity you wish to drive,
Click on the button "Activate Selected Activity"
Click on the button "Run Route".
This will launch Train Simulator in the same way that Train Store does.
